Native Android app — October 29, 2026

This policy describes the Morse Android app, package com.arrangedgodly.morsecode, and its separate native test builds (com.arrangedgodly.morsecode.proof). Contact help@arrangedgodly.com with privacy questions.

Camera and flashlight

Android camera permission enables the flashlight and camera receiver. Receive mode shows a live preview and processes small brightness samples on your device to decode flashes. Morse does not record, save, or upload images or video. Stopping reception, switching modes, or backgrounding the app closes the camera. Backgrounding also turns off the flashlight. You can revoke Camera permission in Android app settings. Screen-light broadcasts work without camera permission.

Optional sound is generated on your device. The app does not request microphone access or record audio.

Messages and sharing

Typed and received text stays in the app's working memory. Morse has no account system, server-side message history, advertising SDK, or analytics SDK. It does not save messages in an app database.

The message and speed are encoded in the part of the current URL after #. Copy link produces a link to the public Morse website containing that message. This is encoding, not encryption: anyone receiving the link can read it. The fragment is not sent in ordinary HTTP requests. Copy message writes text to your clipboard only when requested; Morse does not read your clipboard. Other apps you share with handle the content under their own policies. Nearby people can observe light and sound broadcasts.

Bundled app and external services

The native app bundles its interface and fonts and does not contact a website or font provider to operate. Opening a shared public website link makes network requests through your browser; the website's privacy policy applies there. Android and Google Play may process installation, account, or diagnostic information under their own policies. Morse does not receive your Google credentials.

Retention and your choices

If you select “Don’t show this warning again,” Morse saves that warning preference locally on your device. It contains no message or camera data and is not uploaded. You can restore the warning in Broadcast options or clear app data in Android settings.

Starting a new listening session clears the previous received text. You can clear the broadcast input, stop reception or transmission, revoke camera permission, and clear app data in Android settings. Clipboard contents and links you send are controlled by your device and the recipients. We have no server-side camera or message history to retrieve or delete.

If you email support, we and our email provider receive your address, message, and attachments to respond to your request. We retain that correspondence only as needed for support or legal obligations. You can request deletion at help@arrangedgodly.com.

Children and policy changes

The app does not ask for age or collect personal information through accounts or forms. Contact support if a child has supplied personal information through email so we can review deletion. We will update this policy when the app's data practices change.
